Episode 21: What did my junk drawer teach me?

Do you have a junk drawer? Or perhaps you have a closet, basement, or attic you haven’t visited in a while? Life can certainly feel full. Sometimes the thought of cleaning these spaces out in your home seems far from a priority, never mind accessing the energy it may take to do it.

Recently, I was inspired to clean out my junk drawer, what happened when I did is what you are about to listen to. As Maya Angelou so beautifully put it, “I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”

Let’s face it—we all want things, and to accomplish or get things done, yes? But why? We desire to FEEL GOOD. We hope that the thing or the accomplishment brings with it; peace, joy, purpose. Similarly to the reflections we see in the water, the trees, and the clouds on a sunny day—the power of things may not be the thing itself but rather the reflection of you in the space that being in relationship with a thing, person, or accomplishment sparks.
